Louisa May Alcott (November 29, 1832 – March 6, 1888) was an American novelist, short story writer, and poet best known as the for her novel Little Women (1868) and the sequels Little Men (1871) and Jo's Boys (1886). Suzanne Phillip Clauser was born in 1929 and grew up in a suburb of New York City. She attended Indiana University, graduating in 1951 with a degree in literature. Clauser began writing in the early 1960's and sold her first script to television in 1964, a play for the Bonanza series. During the next 8 years, she supplied material to Bonanza regularly.
